If you said that pray from your heart right now, you are saved and all your sins are washed away. God loves you and He has a plan for your life. Right now, the angels in Heaven are having a party on your behalf. Yes, your behalf. Jesus said this, "Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

Now that you are saved, it is important to become part of a local church that teaches the Word of God in its fullness. It is important to grow into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not about religion, it is all about a personal relationship. To grow in spiritual maturity we need to fellowship with other believers and grow in Christ. Becoming committed to Christ and becoming a part of a local church is your next step.

Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. "

Romans 8:13 says, "For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live."

Romans 8:37 says, "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. "

Romans 10:13 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. "

Romans 10:9 (the sinner's prayer is based on this scripture) says , "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. "

Every person sins and no one is perfect. The only perfect person was Jesus Christ. God sent Jesus to be a sacrifice for our sins on the cross (there can be no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood). When Jesus was crucified on the cross (by the people who would not receive His truth), he paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He died for us. As we believe in Him, we experience forgiveness and the grace of God. We can now experience victory over sin in our lives and eternal life is our prize when it's all said and done.
